Former O&M staffer, Erik-Jan Verheijen, heads W+K Amsterdam TV production department

ErikVerhijenKleur.jpgOgilvy Asia’s former head of TV Production Erik-Jan Verheijen has been appointed as the new Head of Broadcast at Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam. Verheijen is a native of Amsterdam and brings a wealth of over 16 years of professional broadcast experience to W+K, ranging from consultancy, agency in-house, TV and feature film production.

Most recently at W+K, Erik produced the Nike ‘Bad Listener’ spot featuring Oscar Pistorious, Honda’s ‘Let It Shine’ and the frenetic trailer to launch EA’s ‘Need For Speed Shift’ video game to the press and gaming industry in LA.

Whilst in Asia he implemented a successful operational module acrossthe entire Ogilvy & Mather Hong Kong production hub includingprint, TV and traffic. Previous to his time in Hong Kong, Erik was nostranger to Ogilvy having spent almost an additional 3 years at theSingapore office as Regional Head of Broadcast. During his time there,he built up the Singapore Broadcast department and oversaw theBroadcast departments of Ogilvy in the Asia Pacific region.

Verheijen has also ventured into feature film production in associationwith IDTV Film, one of The Netherlands largest production companies. In2008 he produced ‘Bride Flight’, Rutger Hauer’s first Dutch-languagefilm in 25 years. Most recently he produced ‘First Mission’, aboutnative Indians, set for its theatrical release in mid 2010.
