Tan Kien Eng to lead Direct and Promo Lotus judging panel at AdFest 2011
Tan Kien Eng, CEO, Leo Burnett Group Singapore and Malaysia, will be leading the Direct and the inaugural Promo Lotus judging panel as jury president at the 14th Advertising Festival 2011 (AdFest 2011) to be held during 17th – 19th March 2011 in Phuket, Thailand.
Additionally, Tan will also judge the 360 Lotus, INNOVA Lotus and Lotus Roots categories alongside the Grand Jury President, Washington Olivetto and the six jury presidents from other panels.
This year, 15 Lotus categories are open for entries, including the brand new Promo Lotus as well as Lotus Roots, Film Lotus; Radio Lotus; Print Lotus; Poster Lotus; Cyber Lotus; Direct Lotus; Outdoor Lotus; New Director; Film Craft Lotus; Print Craft Lotus; Design Lotus, INNOVA and 360.
The newly-introduced Promo Lotus category celebrates promotional activities that are created for the sole purpose of increasing sales. This includes sampling, field marketing, competitions and cross-promotions.
Direct Lotus goes beyond the ambit of traditional direct marketing to encompass all or any kind communication where it is possible to deliver measurable results in the consumer as well as business to business marketing. Direct mediums can be used individually or in combination where there is a simple and clear method to measure success.
360 Lotus: Ideas which are big enough to work across at least 3 different media.
INNOVA Lotus entries will be judged on their level of genuine innovation, talk-value, and results. The entry may utilize only one media or across multiple media. Budget is irrelevant and submissions will be accepted from any category. INNOVA Lotus will be presented to world-class concepts that have made a dramatic impact on the marketplace – i.e. unique, “landmark” ideas, technologies, designs, applications or creative properties that have pushed Asia’s marketing industry into unchartered territory.
Lotus Roots is an award category unique to AdFest. It is inspired by AdFest’s permanent tagline, ‘Made in Asia’ and rewards work that is rooted in the rich legacies, history and traditions of local cultures.
