Receipt Stories.jpgMcCann Erickson Malaysia recently won four ‘Dragons’ at the eleventh Promotion Marketing Awards of Asia (PMAA), including the prestigious ‘Best in Malaysia’ award for their ‘Receipt Story’ campaign for BookXcess.

To connect with story lovers across Malaysia, McCann Erickson came up with the idea of encouraging BookXcess customers to submit short stories of no more than 100 words.  The most popular stories were published each week, printed on the backs of cash register receipts.  The campaign was a great success with over 500 new authors in the first month and over 100 stories submitted.

Referred to as a ‘stand out campaign’ by Mike Da Silva, Director of the PMAA Dragons and the MAA GLOBES, ‘Receipt Stories’ was also awarded Best Activity Generating Short or Long Term Brand Loyalty Dragon (Gold).

McCann Erickson also won Best B2B campaign Dragon (Silver) for the New Straits Times ‘Different Perspectives” campaign and ‘Best Use of the Internet in a Promotion Marketing Campaign’ Dragon (Bronze) for Nestlé® Coffeemate® “Love Notes”.

Speaking about the win, Szu Lee, (Deputy Chairman and Executive Creative Director), McCann Erickson Malaysia said “We are extremely proud to be recognized at the 2011 PMAA for our creative work.  We believe in working as an extension of our clients’ marketing team and our focus for this year’s work was to provide return-on-investment and business growth”.

McCann also won two Order of Merit awards: Best Sponsorship or Tie-in Campaign for Cereal Partners Worldwide’s Nestle Fitnesse and Best Innovative Idea or Concept for BFM Media’s Broke FM Monopoly campaign.

The winning campaigns are now being adjudicated by the MAA GLOBES International Judging Panel, against the Best of the Best in Promotion Marketing from Award Programmes.  Winners will be announced at the MAA GLOBES Award Ceremony on 20 October this year.
