Cheng has created successful digital campaigns for a wide range of clients, including a recent integrated campaign for SOYJOY, which featured a mobile app and Facebook platform that encouraged women to enjoy a healthy snack through an engaging mobile game that’s activated with special codes on every SOYJOY bar pack.

“This doesn’t come as a surprise to me as Valerie has given so much to the digital industry in Singapore over the last 15 years and this is only just the beginning for her,” said Paul Soon, Regional Director, XM Asia Pacific. “XM is extremely proud to have another of our local talents recognized in the industry past and present. This is indeed well deserved and speaks volume of her talent, commitment and relentless drive for perfection.”

Cheng began her career with earth9.com in 1997, and joined XM Asia Pacific in 1999 as an art director. She later moved to Leo Burnett/Arc Worldwide as Creative Director, then joined Publicis Modern as Executive Creative Director. Cheng re-joined XM Asia Pacific in November 2010, to help lead digital advancements across both XM and JWT

.

During her career, Cheng has created award-winning work for tier-one global brands, like Hewlett Packard, and has been tapped by the industry to serve as a judge on many regional and local award shows, including Cannes, Spikes, Effies, ADFest and Webbys. She also served as the first-ever female chair of the Creative Circle Awards in 2010.

“I’m very excited – this award is a real honour,” said Cheng. “It feels like the hard work of the last 15 years has paid off.”
