f1foreveryone.jpgIn the lead-up to the 2012 Formula 1™ SingTel Singapore Grand Prix iris Singapore has launched the aptly titled “F1™ for Everyone” campaign.

iris was awarded this Formula 1™ outreach program following a competitive pitch late last year.  The program will consist of experiential and digital engagements across the next four months.

“Formula 1™ is the pinnacle of motor sports. It takes the world’s best drivers, teams and technology to compete. And even amongst the fans, it takes serious commitment to follow the championship and get close to the action on race days,” says Craig Mapleston, Managing Director of iris Singapore. “With this in mind, we set out to make the sport more accessible to average Singaporeans and create greater anticipation for the 2012 Formula 1™ SingTel Singapore Grand Prix. To do that, we are taking the sport to the people through our F1™ for Everyone platform.”

Conveniently located at outdoor venues across Singapore, the first roadshow will take place at Bishan Park on 7-8 July from 10.30am to 9.30pm where Singaporeans will be able participate in the first ever electric go-kart race to win tickets to the SingTel Singapore Grand Prix. They can also pit their skills against the professional drivers on the F1™ race simulators mounted on complex hydraulics, or for a more relaxed family experience, sit back and enjoy the live screening of the European races. Online, fans on the SingTel Facebook page will be able to view race and event updates as well as vote for their favourite SingTel Grid Girls for 2012.

“As we have been doing the past few years, we invite everyone to feel the race action both on and off the track during this Formula 1™ season. This year SingTel is partnering with Singapore GP to bring even more fun and exciting race-inspired experiences to delight and amaze Singaporeans,” said SingTel Chief Executive Officer, Consumer Singapore, Yuen Kuan Moon.
