Golden performance by Japan and India in Cannes Lions Design awards with Japan netting eight Golds and India two Gold Lions

The ULTIMATE PENCIL.jpgDAY LIGHT.jpgAfter shortlisting 234 entries, this year’s Cannes Lions Design Grand Prix was awarded by the jury to Serviceplan Munich for their entry for Auchan ‘The Selfscan Report’.

In total 23 gold, 50 silver and 64 bronze Lions were awarded by the jury presided over by Mary Lewis, Creative Director, Founding Partner, Lewis Moberley.

For Asia the Design category reaped rich rewards for both Japan and India. Japan scored 8 Gold Lions and 6 Silvers. India’s haul of 13 Lions included 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 8 Bronze.

Hakuhodo Tokyo and Dentsu Tokyo were multiple Gold winners, with single gold Lions going to Taproot India, Ogilvy & Mather India, Dentsu Chubu Nagoya, I&S BBDO Tokyo, 6D-K Tokyo and Iyama Design Tokyo.

“DAY LIGHT” for PHILIPS ELECTRONICS INDIA from OGILVY & MATHER INDIA Gurgaon

China was the next best performing country with 3 Silvers and 4 Bronzes. Thailand won 2 Silvers and a Bronze. South Korea and The Philippines won a Silver and Bronze each and Singapore picked up 2 Bronzes.
