Craig Howie moves to Hong Kong to take up the chief creative officer role at JWT Hong Kong
Craig Howie has been appointed Chief Creative Officer at JWT Hong Kong. Howie (pictured) moves from JWT’s Shanghai office where he led the creative team on the agency’s Ford business. Prior stints include JWT Tokyo, BBH Shanghai and Tokyo, Fallon Asia and Tribal DDB Singapore.
During his time in China he helped create the ‘Yulu’ project for Johnnie Walker, a feature-length collaboration with celebrated Chinese director Jia Zhangke that premiered to a sold-out audience at the 35th International Hong Kong Film Festival, and was awarded Campaign Asia’s ‘Campaign of the Year’ in 2011. While in Japan, notable projects include the innovative ‘Axe Wake-Up Service’ campaign for Axe Body Spray, one of the earliest integrated campaigns to center around a mobile phone application. The success of the project has made it a popular case study in disruptive mobile marketing.
“Clients today expect great ideas to work not only across media but across borders. I really look forward to working with the team here. It’s a great group, and Hong Kong has a unique position as a global city – I’m really excited about the opportunities ahead,” said Howie.
“I’m privileged to have known and worked with Craig over the last twelve years. He is solid, genuine, and a highly strategic creative leader. His partnership with Dennis will inject even more finesse and supremacy into JWT Hong Kong,” says Yang Yeo, China Chairman & North Asia ECD.
He will partner with JWT Hong Kong General Manager Dennis Lam (pictured left).
“Craig is an outstanding talent with proven success in developing truly innovative work. He has real passion and dedication to the creative product. Craig’s regional experience and international recognition will be a real asset to our growing team,” said Lam.
