DDB Vietnam to partner with Vietnam Trade Alliance to form marketing solutions agency
DDB Asia has announced its plans to partner with Vietnam Trade Alliance in a move to transform DDB Vietnam from a creative shop to a marketing solutions agency. Walter Blocker will head up DDB Vietnam as Chairman to tap into the country’s growth in e-commerce.
Under Blocker (pictured left), DDB Vietnam will offer marketing solutions in digital, e-Commerce, Shopper Marketing, Data-mining and Brand Management. It will work closely with DDB’s regional hub office in Singapore, especially with Tribal Worldwide Singapore’s team of digital technologists and TracyLocke’s team of shopper marketing experts.
“Our clients in Vietnam are looking for serious marketing solutions, not just pretty ads. It makes sense for our DDB Vietnam office to tap into Singapore. After all, what good is innovation if it’s not applied for clients? We are pleased to have Walter leading the charge to do great work for big clients,” said David Tang, CEO of DDB Asia.
Blocker is Chairman and CEO of Vietnam Trade Alliance (VTA), with offices in five cities within Vietnam. A long-time resident, Blocker has been based in Vietnam since 1995. He has served three terms as Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam and is Chairman ex-officio of the Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers representing 10,000 American companies in 19 countries throughout Asia.
“I am truly excited to be a part of DDB, who is pushing the frontiers of new economy marketing and e-commerce. We share the same views about using creativity for business impact. I am really excited our DDB Vietnam team and operations will plug into the regional strength of DDB. Our clients will gain strongly from this,” added Blocker.
Accordingly, DDB Asia has also appointed Peter Cheung, Business and Planning Director, based in the Singapore hub office, to help drive DDB Vietnam growth. This reflects yet another move by DDB Asia with its hub-and-spokes operating model under its new DDB Asia CEO David Tang. The DDB Singapore hub is expected to lend its expertise and support to local DDB offices across Asia.
The appointments are effective immediately.
