Seven Sundays and Leo Burnett Indonesia create a quirky my good friend film for Pop Mie Noodles
Simont Phang unites with Seven Sundays at his quirky best in this new film for Pop Mie Noodles from Indofood and agency Leo Burnett.
The story begins in India as street vendors desperate to sell their goods accost an Indonesian tourist. It’s never easy to recreate an Indian market outside of India, but skilful art direction and food styling sells the appearance of an authentic market easily, and sets the stage for a visually rich film. From there we visit a student dorm as a student is caught by his friends munching out on a late night snack of Pop Mie, before the film finishes high in a tree house in a forest with a young man enjoying Pop Mie, and despite the remoteness a keen Pop Mie seller is ready to supply more.
The shoot itself was enormous fun, which is reflected in the effortless performances of the talents. Simont says of the film, “It’s always a great pleasure to shoot with Seven Sunday’s in Jakarta, and great to work with agency and clients who understand and appreciate my vision for the film and have the confidence to allow me to create that vision for them. I was really happy with the result, and as always thoroughly enjoyed the experience.”
Rodney Louis Vincent produced the film for Seven Sundays, and DP Chong came on board to direct the cinematography for the project.
