Johan Vakidis resigns from executive creative director role at AKQA to take 6 month sabatical
Top digital creative director Johan Vakidis has resigned from his executive creative director position at AKQA in Shanghai.
Vakidis told Campaign Brief Asia his plan is to take a 6 month sabatical – “a personal break to focus on family and myself, before resurfacing somewhere else in China.”
“I have been privileged to be part of AKQA for the past 6 years. Growing the office from 10 to over 100 has been the most gratifying experience of my career,” Vakidis told CB. “I have met truly talented and amazing people, have learnt so much and have seen the company grow beautifully alongside China’s growth.
“This has not been an easy decision, am truly grateful to have been part of this awesome ride.”
Vakidis has been with AKQA since early 2009 when he joined from OgilvyOne China where he was national creative director.
