Gold to Ogilvy Hong Kong in Print & Publishing Lions: Dentsu Tokyo + Ogilvy Bangkok net Silver
Ogilvy Hong Kong’s lauded KFC Hot & Spicy print campaign has landed Asia’s only Gold Lion in the Cannes Print & Publishing Lions. The awards ceremony has just concluded at the Cannes Festival of Creativity and Asia’s haul from the category was 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 4 Bronze Lions.
Ogilvy Hong Kong KFC “Dragster/Heroes/Shuttle” was one of only 7 Gold Lions awarded in Print & Publishing.
Ogilvy Thailand picked up a Silver Lion for their Thermos Singapore campaign “Polyester/Wool/Cashmere”
Dentsu Tokyo scored a Silver Lion for Hokkoku Shimbun “Sumo Girls” and a Bronze for Kobe Shimbun “Emergency Collectibles”.
Cheil Hong Kong came away with a Bronze Lion for their new Block Out The Chaos JBL Headphones campaign – “Football Managers/World Leaders”.
TBWA Thailand won a Bronze Lion for their new McDonald’s 24 Hours campaign with 3 executions – “The Meeting/Rooftop Soccer/Designer”.
McCann Worldgroup Mumbai also came away with a Bronze Lion for Harpic “Five Status Words”.
This year’s Print & Publishing Lions Grand Prix winner was the Budweiser campaign “Tagwords/Monterey/Slide” campaign created by Africa, Brazil. 1,440 entries were received and 49 Lions awarded: 7 Gold, 20 Silver and 21 Bronze.
“The Grand Prix was a print ad that was pure – there was nothing wasted on the page. It looked perfect, yet it was intriguing. It shows the way forward for print – demonstrating the blend of mediums that can coexist to present more powerful messages,” said Print & Publishing Lions Jury president: Kate Stanners, Chairwoman & Global Chief Creative Officer, Saatchi & Saatchi.
