Ogilvy India’s Vodafone Zoozoos campaign proves to be the creative highlight at Goafest 2010
Ogilvy India maintained its top ranking at Goafest 2010, held last week in Goa, India. For the second year in a row Ogilvy won the most number of awards with their Vodafone Zoozoos campaign (left) winning the Integrated Grand Prix as well as the Film Craft category, (Nirvana Films). The agency won a total of 43 awards, which included one of only two Grand Prix awarded, three gold, nine silver and 30 bronze trophies.
Mudra Group with 26 awards (4 Gold, 9 silver and 13 bronze) were the next best performers. Publicis, with 22 awards (2 Gold, 6 Silver and 14 Bronze) were the next best and JWT, Grand Prix winners last year for The Times of India, came fourth.
The Sweet Shop Sydney’s George Mackenzie (pictured right with BBH India’s Priti Nair) was one of the few overseas delegates registered for Goafest this year. He told Campaign Brief Asia it was a pretty amazing experience. “South Goa is a beautiful spot. There was loads to do and see at the festival with exhibitions, lectures and water spots including para-ponting making for a well run event.”
Ogilvy’s Vodafone Zoozoos was the star of the creative part of the festival with the campaign also winning two Golds to go along with the Grand Prix. Ogilvy India won its third gold for The Economist in the Direct section. Both Bates141 and Creativeland Asia won a Gold trophy each. Creativeland Asia won 10 trophies (1 Gold, 2 Silvers, 7 Bronze) and Bates141 scored 8 trophies (1 Gold, 2 Silver, 5 Bronze).
Others to perform well were Leo Burnett (with 3 Silver, 8 Bronze), RediffusionY&R and Cheil Worldwide (1 Silver, 4 Bronze each) and newly formed agency Taproot with 3 Silver and 2 Bronze.
