PB_SH_LOBBY.jpgPixelBox Post-Production celebrates its 5th birthday with the opening of its new facility in Shanghai. PixelBox Shanghai offers the same world-class Colour Grading, Offline Editing, CG & VFX and Online Editing found in Hong Kong.

PixelBox brings to Shanghai its growing team of artists from Hong Kong and right tools to get the job done with the purchase of Filmlight’s Baselight Colour Grading system, widely regarded as the most powerful and versatile colour system available.

PB_SH1.jpgPB_SH2.jpgChris Thorp, PixelBox Managing Director said, “The move is part of our progressive growth for 2013; our investment into Shanghai with a superior product like Baselight is to offer something different in the market. To deliver incredible fast performance on demanding commercials, the ability to work with native RAW camera files in real time has really impressed many clients and directors. Gradually increasing our team of artists in Hong Kong will allow us to introduce more talent to the Shanghai market and remain consistent.”

As well as the Baselight system, PixelBox had invested heavily in the new Sony OLED professional monitors. This technology gives clients accurate and reliable colours, blacks and picture quality. PixelBox has upgraded its Hong Kong Baselight along with other software so that projects can flow seamlessly between offices. Salina Li joins PixelBox in Shanghai as Producer, plus further additions to the team in Hong Kong continue with Online Compositors, Eva Ng and Alan Li along with 3D animator Cynthia Lee. The growth of the Hong Kong team allows us to rotate the team to Shanghai as necessary and allows our work to remain consistent between offices.

PixelBox Creative Director, Simon O’Connor said, “Going in to our 6th year, I honestly believe we have the strongest team yet and the latest additions are all part of our drive to employ and grow the best creative talent in the region.”
