Cambodia Beer.jpgCambodia Beer recently kicked-off a national foosball championship tournament spanning 12 provinces from east to west of the country. The first ever foosball tournament in Cambodia was created and is being handled by Directions Brand Communications for Khmer Breweries’ flagship brand Cambodia Beer.

Player.jpgTwelve provinces will have a taste of the excitement and witness barrels of fun this innovative game brings. The first stop was Battambang from where 3 top teams emerged. The top-placer team from every province will have the honor to represent their province at the grand finals and championship games to be held in Phnom Penh in February 2017. They will face-off with other champions emerging from Kampong Cham, Kampong Thom, Poipet, Kratie, Ratanakiri,  Siem Reap, Prey Veng, Kampot, Takeo and Kampong Chhnang.

The game is based on table foosball, popularly called “bobbi” by Cambodians, but instead of playing it on the table, real people play it live on a human size foosball field especially built for the event. Players not only try to out-goal each other but must work as a team and formulate strategies in order to prevail over their opponents. Participants 18 years old and above formed their own teams from among their peers to vie for the grand prize of $10,000.00 and the honor to be the first ever Cambodia Beer Foosball Fever National Champion.

With ice-cold Cambodia Beer in hand, many people in the audience feel the excitement the players feel as they root for their favorite teams. At the end of the day, the live audience are treated to music concert headlined by the hottest pop artists in the land.

Directions also created Facebook ads and announcements for television, print and radio to call for participants and hype excitement for each province.
