Ogilvy is most awarded creative agency in Singapore in the CB Asia Creative Rankings 2018 + Zac Ong Singapore’s #1 most awarded creative
Singapore has a new #1 agency following the release of the 2018 Campaign Brief Asia Creative Rankings today. Over the next 10 days Campaign Brief Asia will be releasing the country by country results of this year’s Creative Rankings, before releasing the complete tables and Asia Rankings as a 50 page downloadable pdf.
The Campaign Brief Asia Creative Rankings were introduced in 1995 to tabulate Asia’s most creative agencies and individual creatives, based on award winning performances over a two year period at the top global and regional award shows.

In 2018 it’s a tale of two agencies in the Singapore market.
Ogilvy Singapore is the big mover this year just edging out BBH Singapore as Campaign Brief Asia’s Singapore Creative Agency of the Year. Both agencies have had an outstanding past 2 years at award shows. In 2018 Ogilvy has a total of 1845 Award Ranking points slightly in front of our last year’s Agency of the Year, BBH, on 1800 points. Pictured above are Ogilvy Singapore co-chief creative officers Nicolas Courant and Melvin Lim.
Ogilvy was placed #2 in Singapore last year but strong performances at the past 12 months award shows has seen them increase from 445 points (in 2017) to 1845 points this year. Ogilvy’s strongest performances were at London International Awards (595pts), One Show (270pts) and D&AD (220pts).
In #2 spot BBH Singapore increased by 615 Awards Ranking pints from 1185pts last year to 1800pts this year. Their biggest performance was at AdStars in 2017 where thee Nike “Stadium” campaign scored 410pts.
Coming in at #3 in Singapore is Dentsu, followed by MullenLowe (#4), Kinetic (#5), TBWA (#6), Saatchi & Saatchi (#7), BBDO (#8), Havas Worldwide (#9) and DDB (#10).
Despite losing the #1 position, BBH creatives still fill the top three positions in the Singapore Hottest Creatives Table.
Last year’s equal #1 most award winning creative Zac Ong (pictured left) leads the rankings again this year, 65 points in front of ex BBH colleague Aste Gutierrez (now at TBWA in the US), and 90 points in front of #3 Matteo Catanese (both pictured below left and right).
Ogilvy’s creative department are the big improvers this year with David Stevanov rising 8 places to #4 in Singapore with 1425pts.
Ogilvy creatives fill the next 3 positions – Aritra Dutta is ranked #5; Kevin Wijaya at #6 and Eugene Cheong at #7. All four rise largely on the outstanding awards performance of the Alliance Française De Singapour campaign “Pitching French Films To Hollywood”, which proved to be one of Asia’s top two most awarded campaigns of the year.
Dentsu Singapore’s Guilet James Libby and Trevor Lim are ranked #8 and #9 respectively and another Ogilvy Singapre creative Augustus Sung fills out Singapore’s Top 10 Hottest Creative Table.
Of concern to the health of the Singapore creative community would be the large gap between the country’s top two award-winning agencies – Ogilvy and BBH – and the rest of the network agencies. Previous proven award-winning agencies MullenLowe, Saatchi & Saatchi, Y&R, Grey Group, J Walter Thompson and Kinetic all failed to win a single award over the past 12 months at any of the 11 global and regional award shows.
The results of the 2018 Campaign Brief Asia Creative Rankings are tabulated from creative award wins over a rolling two year period. The shows that are included in these calculations are: Ad Stars 2016 + 2017; Spikes Asia 2016 +2017; AWARD Awards 2017 + 2018; AdFest 2017 + 2018; Campaign Brief’s THE WORK 2017 + 2018; Clio Awards 2016 + 2017; London International Awards 2016 + 2017; New York Festivals 2017 + 2018; One Show 2016 + 2017; D&AD 2017 + 2018; Cannes Lions 2017 + 2018.

The first 6 in the list are all not in Singapore and in the agency listed anymore. Cheers
Zac and Matteo are now in NY with MullenLowe.
Aste is at TBWA I believe.
Augustus and David are at We Are Unlimited, Chicago
Great to see talent shining in Singapore and then taking on the world. Good luck to all.
Ogilvy Singapore huh. The very same agency that shamelessly exploited the very real suffering of the Rohingya people in a thinly-disguised awards bait campaign called “Space on Earth”, where their brilliant idea was to put a TV into space in order to give voice to the refugees, thereby demonstrating an incredible lack of logic since space is the one place NO ONE will be able to hear them.
Agreed @another sg creative
Nothing like a high creative ranking to get the offers
3 times I have had offers after ranking highly
Good luck to all creatives on their success
It is getting trendy these days for Singaporeans to be qualified working in the U.S. Too easy. Makes it common and mediocre.
@ too easy
Not all from Singapore, some from Malaysia, Philippines and India. A handful of the ones who went before were better than today’s. Those did rub shoulders with the greats over there.
Congrats ogilvy for the top success, inspiration for many of us
