redbus awards M&C Saatchi Indonesia their integrated communication duties

Following a multi-agency pitch, M&C Saatchi Indonesia has been awarded the integrated communication duties for redBus in Indonesia. The scope includes ATL, BTL, Digital Advertising and Content.

redBus is the world’s largest bus booking platform, offering ease and convenience of booking long and short haul bus tickets from your mobile or desktop. Part of Ibibo group, which is now held by Make My Trip Group, redBus brings in a wealth of travel expertise to its users. With operations spread across India, Malaysia, Singapore, Peru, Colombia, and now Indonesia, redBus is transforming the customer experience of bus travel with quantum leaps.

Indonesia is a country where bus ticket booking is still done through conventional means, where people physically buy tickets at brick and mortar counters in bus terminals. By digitising the bus ticketing experience, redBus will bring massive change to people’s lives, by offering convenience, certainty and transparency to the bus booking process.

Anish Daryani, Founder and President Director, M&C Saatchi Indonesia (pictured), said, “M&C Saatchi wants to play a proactive role in using communication to shape culture for the betterment of society, one brutally simple thought at a time. When we received the pitch brief for redBus, our team, many of them inter-city bus commuters themselves, were excited about how bus travel would change forever in Indonesia with the convenience that redBus offers to users. We were able to translate this excitement to great ideation and execution, which perhaps has set us up for a long ride with redBus.”

Dami Sidharta, Co-founder and ECD, M&C Saatchi Indonesia, said, “We thought we could solve a real problem that people in Indonesia have been facing, by communicating the fantastic solution that redBus is for bus travellers. We looked at this in a culturally relevant but cool way, and we’re confident the work coming from this will make a connection with travellers and Indonesians at large”.
