TBWA\ Shanghai elevates Muriel Lechaczynski from managing partner to managing director

TBWA\ Shanghai has promoted Muriel Lechaczynski to managing director, from her role as managing partner.

Joanne Lao, chief executive officer of TBWA\Greater China said, “It’s always rewarding to recognise and elevate talent within. Muriel has played an instrumental role in the ongoing transformation of the Shanghai agency, and has a fabulous quality in her leadership style in being able to bring out the best in teams to get the job done in the most impactful way.”

Lechaczynski (pictured) rejoined TBWA in Shanghai in 2013 as brand team leader and a member of the management team. In 2016, Muriel was elevated to the role of managing partner and over the last three years has helped to drive innovative new structures, new ways of working and embedding digital and social talent across teams. In recognition of the agency’s ongoing innovation, TBWA\Shanghai was named one of Greater China’s most Integrated Agencies of the Year by Campaign Asia in 2018.

Lao added, “Muriel’s energy and passion for the creative product and the brands she works on is evident in the agency’s on-going success; deepening our relationship with existing clients, winning new business and attracting diverse talent with new skillsets.”

Lechaczynski said, “I’m thrilled to step into this new role at an agency I have seen grow and transform over the last five years. It is an exciting time at TBWA\Shanghai; we have an amazing pool of talent, a contagious passion and positive vibe with an appetite for success.”

Lechaczynski moves in the managing director role with immediate effect and will continue to report to Lao.
