The Crowbar Awards 2019 introduces new categories for this year’s theme “The Nxt”

This year’s theme for the Singapore-based Crowbar 2019 awards will see two new categories. The Nxt in Health & Wellness as well as The Nxt in Good.

“We’ve seen a growing number of health & wellness related creative ideas submitted for the past Crowbar Awards. And given the rise in demand for brands to have a greater focus on the health and wellness of millennial audiences, to place more value in this area will allow participants to flex their creative muscles in more meaningful ways,” says Alfred Wee, Creative Director McCann Worldgroup Singapore, Crowbar 2019 Chairman.

“Another new addition is The Nxt in Good, a category that awards work that uses creativity as a force for good. Not entirely new, but introducing this category as a standalone couldn’t be more timely. Millennials are ambitious, altruistic and especially passionate about causes important to them. The Crowbar Awards could be that much-needed platform for our audience to create the change they want to see in the world,” adds Alfred Wee.

“We see the need for Crowbar to evolve with the latest trends and demands for change from our digital-first audience. They move from offline to online, social to mobile, without missing a beat. Where once agencies had control of the medium, now our audience chooses where they want to engage and how. And with the rate the online and social platforms are transforming themselves, we must be ready to accept that The Nxt is the new norm,” says Dante Abelarde, Creative Director MRM//McCann, Crowbar 2019 Co-Chairman.

Launched in 2001, the Crowbar Awards highlight the best emerging talent in creative communications and design. The Crowbar Awards has since become a leading award show for emerging creatives to showcase their best ideas. The show now attracts over 1,000 entries from local, regional and international tertiary institutions.
