Ogilvy launches new campaign to introduce Durian Cheese Pizza for Pizza Hut Hong Kong

Pizza Hut has launched their newest product with something no one would ever expect as a topping – Durian!

 

To drive excitement for every Hongkonger (well, perhaps not everyone since it’s Durian), this is only available in delivery and takeaway channels, for a limited time.

To launch this pizza, the social media campaign Fortune 2020 features an entertaining lookalike character of a well-known local Fung Shui master “My Lin Lin”. The play on pronunciation of her name “Mai Lin” has a double meaning which also translates to “selling durian” in Cantonese.

The pizza can also be used for Fung Shui fortunes, making it relevant as it extends over into Chinese New Year. There are also two digital activations on social media that offer mini quizzes for fans to find out interesting predictions for 2020.
