Paul Mottram joins Zeno Group as Regional President Zeno Asia-Pacific

Zeno Group has appointed Paul Mottram as Regional President, Zeno Asia-Pacific.

With more than 27 years of experience in the region, he will oversee a growing staff of 125 professionals in China, India, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia as well as the network of Zeno+ partners across Asia-Pacific.

Mottram brings extensive leadership experience as well as deep expertise in integrated strategy, brand-building, corporate reputation and creative content development to drive multi-channel storytelling. Most recently, Mottram led Allison+Partners’ All Told creative, content and digital unit across Asia. Earlier in his career, Mottram was chief operating officer of independent agency Upstream Asia before its acquisition by Next Fifteen, where he also spent time at Bite and Text100.

In addition, Zeno India has appointed Rekha Rao as its new Managing Director. Rao brings some 24 years of experience working on some of the world’s great brands and companies including Vicks, Oral-B, Gillette, Nissan and Abbott Nutrition. Most recently, Rao held a senior role at 2020MSL, MSL Group India’s strategic engagement and consultancy arm.

“Paul brings to the region the experience and perspective we need as our largest client relationships continue to expand into Asia, while we also focus on growing our business regionally and locally. In addition, and as importantly, we all felt great alignment with both Paul and Rekha from a cultural point of view in terms of the values that drive our business and the fearless spirit that imbues all we do,” said Barby K. Siegel, Zeno Group CEO.

Rao joins in January and Mottram joins in February. Mottram will report to Siegel, and Rao to Mottram.

Additionally, David Lian has assumed the newly created role of Managing Director of Growth and Innovation for the region. For the past six years, Lian has served as Managing Director of Zeno Malaysia and under his leadership the office grew seven-fold, catapulting the firm into one of the top agencies. In his new role, Lian will focus on key regional growth initiatives across talent and business development, as well as innovation and new capabilities ahead of the market. Amanda Leong, who has been with Zeno for five years, and for the last two has served as Director, takes over as General Manager, Zeno Malaysia.

“Zeno’s reputation as a creative force and market disruptor has long been on my radar, and I have been very impressed by their depth of talent and highly collaborative approach, regionally and globally. A quick scan of their client roster shows the place Zeno has carved out as a global, midsize firm working at the highest levels. This is an exciting time to join as the firm continues to grow, working with clients to deploy the power of communications for tangible business impact,” said Mottram.
