Lion & Lion Asks Employees Across All Offices in Asia to Work From Home Amid COVID-19 Situation

Lion & Lion has directed its employees across all its offices in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taipei to start working from home until further notice, in a move to take action to protect employees and contribute to the broader efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19.

So far, none of Lion & Lion’s employees across any of the offices have been confirmed with COVID-19, but the company continues to take abundant preventive measures to ensure the safety of its workforce and everyone around. One of the employees in Kuala Lumpur had been in direct contact with a COVID-19 positive case earlier this week, and another staff in Jakarta had shown symptoms. Both the employees in concern have undergone thorough investigation and have been tested negative.

Among other precautions to combat the probability of the spread of the virus. Lion & Lion is undergoing an extensive sanitisation of workstation, office floors and common facilities, while the employees are asked to self-quarantine at home for a minimum of two weeks and report any symptoms. Meetings over virtual calls are being encouraged and all unnecessary travels have been halted until further guidance. Additionally, employees who display any flu-like symptoms have been requested to continue work remotely until fully recovered.

Fredrik Gumpel, Lion & Lion CEO (pictured) said, ‘Safety of our employees and partners is our first priority and out of an abundance of caution, we have asked all our Lion & Lion employees across 5 cities to start working remotely from this week until further notice. So far, we have no confirmed cases of employees with the virus, but we aim to curb any potential threat to our workforce and everyone around us by taking preventative measures.”

Gumpel added, “This is an unprecedented change for us, as we move towards a more distributed workforce. We remain committed to delivering to our clients by leveraging technology to optimise remote work and ensuring our readiness to deliver at full capacity.”

Lion & Lion will be constantly monitoring the situation and take potentially further steps as the situation evolves. The company is helping employees implement measures to reduce the risk of any virus transmission.
