Director’s Think Tank (DTT) in collaboration with Flock Creative Networks has created a heartwarming spot for McDonalds Indonesia’s new Happy Meal menu.

Directed by Rajay Singh, Pilih Kebaikan Terbaru Happy Meal tells the story of the cheekiness and vivid imagination of a young boy. Together with the refreshed Happy Meal box that comes with a new menu even more catered for young ones, the box of goodness is the catalyst to bring the family together. McDonald’s Happy Meal’s latest menu offers goodness and healthier options for kids to savor. Unlike the tactical and sales driven tone associated with many food brand promotions, the thematic spot relies on striking imagery, creative costume and set designs, and strong acting from the child talent.

“When there are happy meals and children, of course we need a magician, Rajay Singh to bring the situation comes alive. He makes the imagery feels so real, he transformed simple story between mom and son into a magical story. He is a truly magician!” Erwin Santoso, Co-founder and Creative Partner of Flock Creative Network commenting on his working experience with Rajay Singh .

“What’s interesting from this story is the conflict between the grandma and the astronaut boy. The boy seems like purposely “push the button”, disobey rules and just plain don’t listen, but despite how annoying his behaviors was, there’s a big dream and goodness inside him and also the grandma actually.” Chandra Suteja, Creative Group Head of Flock Creative Network.

Even with his extensive experience directing children, Rajay Singh, Co-Founder and Director at DTT jokingly cautioned on the unpredictability of shoots featuring child talents. “When working with kids, I believe in letting children be themselves on set. Hopefully from here we can transform any imperfections into cute and adorable shots.”

Rajay also commended the strong collaborations that went into creating the thematic spot. He remarked, “It was a pleasure having Bella Panggabean as our Director of Photography and Budi Gareng as Art Director. Their strong eye for detail and visual storytelling helped to bring to life the strong family bonding moments.”

This is the third thematic film that Rajay has shot for McDonald’s Indonesia.
