With Cannes Lions and LIA postponed until 2021, Campaign Brief is still out to recognise and showcase the great work that is being produced in the region. So we are introducing The Work 2020 Contenders.

NZ Transport Agency: Belted Survivors
Clemenger BBDO, Wellington
The ‘soft’ seatbelt needed a tough new image to appeal to Kiwi guys who drive hard and crash even harder. We recruited real crash survivors with VICE, and recreated the marks left behind by their seatbelts – transforming them into badges of honour. Their ten stories recruited hundreds more. Inspiring survivors to challenge mates to make the right call.

NZ Transport Agency: The Unsaid
Clemenger BBDO, Wellington
In an act of silent protest, Ashleigh, a young woman who lost her cousin to drug-driving, shared her story of loss. She said if her experience was unique, she wouldn’t be back. The project would be over. But ‘The Unsaid’ proved itself into existence; over seven weeks 250 stories surfaced, shared daily into the living rooms of millions. A growing community campaigned alongside her in social, rallying a nation to fight for change.

NZ Transport Agency: Liberated Drivers
Clemenger BBDO, Wellington
‘Liberated Drivers’ leverages a global growing desire to take back the control we’ve lost from our phones, by repositioning the car as a safe haven from distraction. Instead of inconveniencing connectedness, driving now offers a sweet escape. A subtle flip that turns the car into a tool for phone resistance: a place where, for once, driving is the distraction.

Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority (EECA): Gen Less
Clemenger BBDO, Wellington
We have eleven years to solve climate change. To inspire the way forward, we looked to history. Changemakers of the past were united in a new speech that challenged us to be changemakers of today. Every word had inspired past generations – now those familiar words were imbued with new meaning to inspire the generation of today.
