UBXED [unboxed] together with RICE Content & Media Vietnam present “Not All Monsters Are Under The Bed”, a short film that came about due to the reports of rising domestic violence and child abuse cases happening worldwide because of the global pandemic lockdowns.

The film is a collaboration with RICE Content & Media, artist Thanh Hoa, animators Hoang Th. Nguyen and Viet Nguyen Phuong Uy and editor and musician Cuong Pham.

“Not All Monsters Are Under The Bed” is UBXED’s third story on Covid-19 and first animated short film. Previous stories on Covid-19 were The Clown that Wears the Crown and Pair Pairs.

The film was produced by executive producer, Andy Ho, and producers, Phan Thi Thu Ha and Dan Tran.

Andy Ho, Founder and Executive Producer of RICE said: “We are happy to support UBXED on this social project. I feel films are a great medium to tell the story, and UBXED’s ideas allowed our team to be creative.

“We do hope to bring awareness to the domestic issues that is happening during this Covid-19 pandemic.”

Kit Ong, creator of UBXED said: “It is with the generosity and support of Andy, Ha and Dan at RICE Content & Media, and the artistic contributions from Hoa, Hoang, Viet and Cuong that breathed life into this story.

“For a child to witness the violence from one parent against another is a nightmare worse than any monster can unleash. And for that child to be at the brunt of that same violence will leave scars that may never heal. The lockdowns made life worse for anyone caught up in this dire situation.”
