TBWA Singapore has a bit of fun creating the coolest look for the hottest christmas
After the year we have all endured, TBWA\Singapore wanted to give everyone a reason to smile this Christmas by embracing the hot, tropical Christmas Singaporean’s are all going to have, while also giving back to the community.
Singapore residents and the expat community are not going anywhere this Christmas. No winter wonderland booked. No chestnuts roasting on an open fire. And for many expats, they won’t be home for Christmas.
TBWA\Singapore thought a perfect antidote would be to create the Singapore Christmas Sweater, The coolest sweater for the hottest Christmas. Coolest because it’s made of ultra-thin, 100% dry fit material, perfect to keep cool over a turkey roast and some mulled wine.
Most importantly, the sweater is available for sale with all proceeds going towards Singapore charity The Children’s Wishing Well that supports underprivileged children and youth from low-income families.
While the sweaters are only available for sale in Singapore, donations are welcome through the Children’s Wishing Well campaign.

Hahaha…well we all do need a laugh. And kudos. to TBWA for producing this so nicely. I mean it could have gone very wrong.
But art direction is spot on. FUN.
Nice. Though Burger King flame-grilled Christmas jumper was at another level

(an idea from Rumble Queensland)
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery, but a typical Singaporean trait. Give credit where it’s due or take a paycut. For original creative thinking, call Andy Greenaway at Rumble Sg (yeah, they now have an office in Sg) be original. Buy original. All the proceeds from the ugly xmas rashie go to the cancer council of aust. The creative has already won several awards. Maybe TBWA Sg will get a merit? Maybe…
Alas the creative is not produced by Singaporeans despite said “trait”. Let’s look at the credits shall we?
I believe this idea was done in Australia a few years ago, and is still being produced every year.
Problem is, Christmas jumpers in Singapore is as relevant as haw pat villa
Nice work. Congrats to all involved.

2016 Burger King. Both TBWA, Rumble and BK all have merit for adding their touch for surfing and Singapore’s hot weather. Personally, I like all three. BK’s adding some tech was a tad more fun personally. Kudos to all.

The ECD is guilty for not knowing/acknowledging it had already been done. But equally, we should stop throwing hissy fits over credit on pro bono work – Awards are not the be all and end all.
Should look at this as a piece of fun charitable work created to help their community (and to build company culture). Just because Oz Cancer Council created something similar, does it mean the Wishing Well kids all the way in Singapore should suffer? Also, I can’t imagine this was done for awards because it’s clearly not strong enough. The rashie is miles better.
Of all years, let’s focus on creating shit that matters, and get advertising out of this egotistic award-hungry pit.
