Indonesia’s Citra Pariwara announces the theme for 2021 and name judges and festival speakers

The enthusiasm at Citra Pariwara 2020 proved that the COVID-19 pandemic is not a barrier for creativity nor competition. Therefore, this annual event will be held again this year, with a series of events, the main of which will be held on the 2nd and 3rd of December 2021.

In 2020, even though the entire series of events was held virtually, entry levels reached 889. This was almost doubled the actual target, which was 500 entries. Moreover, Citra Pariwara series, Masterclass and Seminar, reached 1500 views. And the Awards Night saw over 31,000 views.

Based on that experience, Reza Fitriano, Organizing Comittee Chairman of 34th Citra Pariwara 2021, said that this year’s event will be held virtually as well – including Seminars, Masterclasses, and Awarding Night.

“Learning from last year, surprisingly, so many people from industry were interested to attend this event, even though it was held virtually,” said Fitriano.

The theme for Citra Pariwara this year is “Embrace (in)Sanity”. This event will appreciate all creative industry workers – especially advertising – who struggle and are forced to multitask while working from home. But, at the same time, they must maintain their sanity.

Registration is already open from September 13 and will close on October 22.

This year, Citra Pariwara will also involve world class creative figures from within and outside the country, both as judges and seminar speakers.

These include Reed Collins (Chief Creative Officer APAC Ogilvy, Hong Kong), Joji Jacob (Co-Founder & Creative Partner BLKJ, Singapore), Jung A Kim (Executive Creative Director Innocean Worldwide Seoul), Damisa Ongsiriwattana (Co- Founder Sour Bangkok, Thailand) Ajay Vikram (Chief Creative Officer Publicis, Singapore), Akae Wang (Executive Creative Director Tencent, Senzhen China), Nikhil Panjwani (Creative Director BBH, Singapore), Aste Gutierrez, (Creative Director Droga5, New York USA ), Phannika Vongsayan (Co-Founder & Managing Director Wolf BKK, Thailand).

In addition, three other series of competitions that were absent in 2020 will be back this year. That categories are Daun Muda, BG, and Young Film Director. By holding those categories, Citra Pariwara expected to encourage the younger generation of advertising at the national and regional levels to be more competitive.

Daun Muda and BG Award this year are sponsored by TikTok For Business. Meanwhile, Young Film Director Award is sponsored by GoPay and the Director’s Think Tank.

The main winner of the Daun Muda will be sent to Young Lotus Creative Workshop at the AdFest Festival in 2022.
