Asia scores 33 shortlisted entries in LIA’s Design and Package Design category led by China with 10

London International Awards (LIA) has announced the shortlists for Design and Package Design. China was Asia strongest performing picking up 10 of the 33 shortlists.

 

There are a total of 131 shortlisted entries representing 28 countries in Design and Package Design.

In Design 103 entries shortlisted. Germany and the United States dominate with 16 entries each in contention for metal, followed by Canada with 11.

In the Design category Tencent, Shenzhen has picked up 3 shortlists for Tencent Youth Science Festival “IMARS Cinema”, Tencent WE Summit “Micro Universe” and WeChat “Moonments”.

TBWA\China scored 2 shortlists for their BMW China “BMW: The X2 Project Sanyuanli” campaign. Amber China and The Nine Shanghai both picked up 1 shortlist

Hong Kong picked up 4 shortlists with Cheil Hong Kong’s “Abandoned Stations” campaign for Volkswagen picking up 2. Havas Hong Kong, Hong Kong and McCann Worldgroup, Hong Kong each scored 1 shortlist.

Cheil India, Gurugram Samsung Good Vibes “Now, Words Aren’t Just Heard, But Felt.” campaign and Ogilvy Philippines, Manila Tokyo Tokyo “Bike”, “Bridge”, “Road” campaign were both shortlisted twice.

Hakuhodo Indonesia’s Sushi Sei “Flavour of Home” campaign scored one shortlist.

From Japan Dentsu Inc., Tokyo’s work for Mori Building and Pocky each picked up a shortlist as well as Dentsu Craft Tokyo’s “Yakushima Treasure Another Live from Yakushima”.

Cheil Worldwide Seoul, d’strict holdings, Inc., Seoul and Innocean Worldwide Seoul all scored 1 shortlist

Ogilvy Taiwan’s “Uni-Form” campaign for Vogue picked up 2 shortlists. Dentsu One Taipei also picked up 1.

In the Package Design category DDB Mudra Group India and ShenZhen Lingyun Creative Packaging Design Co., Ltd., ShenZhen each scored 2 shortlists

Dentsu Inc., Tokyo, Ogilvy India Gurgaon, Ki Saigon Ho Chi Minh City and Lin Shaobin Design, Shenzhen all picked up 1 shortlist.

In Package Design 28 entries Shortlisted. Germany dominated in this competition with nine shortlisted entries.

Jury President, Ashwini Deshpande, Co-founder and Director of Elephant Design, Pune led this jury through some spirited discussions. Joining Ashwini in the virtual judging room was David Cano, Interbrand, Madrid; Emma Follett, Design Bridge, London; Sulet Jansen, Switch, Johannesburg; Fernando Kumkum, Ki Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City; Pum Lefebure, Design Army, Washington D.C.; Alasdair Lennox, Landor & Fitch, New York; Birger Linke, Birger Linke Design, Beijing; Heinrich Paravicini, MUTABOR, Hamburg; Lisa Smith, Jones Knowles Ritchie, New York and Toshihiko Tanabe, Dentsu Inc., Tokyo.

Winners for all media will be announced on 17th November.
