Changi Airport’s annual shopping marathon returns with Tribal Worldwide Singapore

In partnership with Tribal Worldwide Singapore, Changi Airport’s e-commerce platform, iShopChangi, returns with its blockbuster shopping marathon for the third year running.

When travel bans grounded Singaporeans during the pandemic, iShopChangi wasted no time innovating airport shopping to open its retail platform to domestic non-travellers, enabling local consumers to shop alcohol, beauty & wellness, electronics, and other popular merchandise online at tax- and duty-absorbed prices exclusive to Changi Airport. The move made the platform a dual marketplace for both travellers and non-travellers and fuelled iShopChangi’s growth by garnering new customers and widening the prospect funnel despite limited passenger footfall.

This month, the e-commerce platform is once again bringing the experience of airport shopping to every home in Singapore with its annual online event, iShopathon, offering over 70% off on global brand products on top of tax- and duty-absorption.

The e-commerce event will keep shoppers entertained with live stream sessions hosted by influencer duo Jai Kishan and Benzo; and fashion model, Aimee Cheng-Bradshaw and lifestyle and beauty influencer, Kelly Wong, offering makeup tips, cocktail recipes, limited-edition giveaways, and enticing promotional codes. The latest rendition of iShopathon will also see a record-breaking number of cherrypicked product offers across electronics, liquor, beauty, and wellness. Other highlights include one-of-a-kind deals such as Manic Monday that gives the first shopper to check out with the code ‘MANICMONDAY’ their entire shopping cart for free.

iShopChangi is fast expanding its product range to better serve domestic non-travellers. The online platform now features product categories as well as merchants not typically found at the airport.

“It is our priority to continue evolving our offerings to stay ahead of the curve,” said Nicole Foo, Vice President, Online Retail at Changi Airport Group. “There is a huge appetite for social and content commerce experiences among our shoppers.”

“The pandemic has changed how shoppers behave and spurred an uptick in e-commerce sales,” said Leslie Goh, Chief Operating Officer at DDB Group Singapore. “With borders reopening, there will be more business and social activity. This is the perfect time for retailers to get on to e-commerce and experiment with live shopper-tainment. It’s an immensely exciting time for the retail industry.”
