It is with great sadness that Edelman has announced the passing of Michelle Goh, a cherished colleague and deeply-respected professional in Southeast Asia’s marketing industry. Michelle passed away peacefully on July 28 after facing COVID-19 complications.
Michelle will be remembered by her many friends and former colleagues across the industry for her dedication to and passion for integrated brand communications. She was a generous and energetic team leader, exceptional client partner and collaborator respected by everyone who had the pleasure of working with her.
Michelle’s 23-year-long career spanned roles at several of the largest advertising agencies in Malaysia and Singapore, including Grey Worldwide, Saatchi & Saatchi, Y&R, JWT, Euro RSCG and Bates. She joined Edelman in November 2020 as Integrated Brand Client Director, leading a new team and department to deliver integrated campaigns for the firm’s portfolio of clients, winning several awards for her outstanding work.
In memory of Michelle and her contribution to the industry, Edelman has launched the Michelle Goh Memorial Award for Brand Excellence as part of its annual internal awards programme. This award will not only recognise excellence in integrated communications but also celebrate the drive and leadership of impactful creative work.
