Muma Malaysia hires Kevin Teh as CD: Creative partner Donevan Chew to leave the agency

Independent agency Muma Malaysia has hired Kevin Teh as its new creative director. Teh comes on board November 1 replacing the outgoing Creative Partner Donevan Chew. Teh was previously the in-house creative lead at Carsome working on regional campaigns and has 14 years of advertising experience with global network agencies Dentsu Malaysia, McCann Worldgroup, Ogilvy and Saatchi & Saatchi.

Teh (above) said: “I would describe my career more like a love affair as I am deeply passionate about the brands I work on and constantly strive to deliver top notch creative work that also achieves the clients’ marketing goals. People may think that it is near impossible to attain both creative excellence and commercial success but the reality is that both are interdependent where you cannot have one without the other. I hope to change this perception with my work, one ad at a time, and I look forward to working with the dynamic team at Muma who have been delivering effective AND award-winning creatives.”

Muma co-founder and creative partner, Choo Chee Wee said: “I am pleased to have Kevin on Team Muma. His experience, passion and belief for creativity that works is aligned with our promise to bring our clients well-crafted creative solutions that resonate with consumers.”

Working alongside Wee, Teh takes over the responsibility from creative partner, Donevan Chew (pictured below), who will be leaving for a new challenge at Havas Immerse Malaysia at the end of October after two years at the boutique agency.

Co-founder and managing director, Pang Li Li, said: “This has been a great year for Muma on both the creative and business front. Apart from being recognised as Independent Agency Of The Year at both ADFEST and Spikes Asia 2022, we have also recently won new business from Boost e-wallet, Dumex Dugro, Lazada, Maybank, Nature’s Wonder and Treatz to close off the year. Clients have taken a bold step to entrust us, a small and relatively new agency, with their brands and we fully intend to deliver impactful campaigns that will help their brand and business growth.”

Muma Malaysia was established in 2018 by Wee and Li Li who have four decades of experience behind them working in international agencies in Malaysia and in agencies around Asia. The agency’s main clients include Celcom, Red Bull, Tai Sun and Vinda Group.
