Seven Sunday Films adds top Malaysian directing team Junad+Nadirah to the roster

Seven Sunday Films has signed top Malaysia based directing team Junad+Nadirah to work across the SSF global network.

 

Junad M.Nor (pictured left), born and raised in Subang Jaya, is a director whose work spanning across commercials, music videos and brand films is also known for finding humour in the common place, that also draws inspiration from everyday life and personal experiences. Junad has also been involved in various film projects, her first short film ‘ODAH’ was screened at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea and her first Movie for TV, NOSTALGILA was produced for Astro. Her TV series credits include Disney’s sitcom ‘Wizards of Warna Walk’. Her commercials work includes Netflix, McDonald’s and the highly acclaimed Julie’s Biscuits Hari Raya campaign.

Co-director Nadirah Zakariya (pictured right), born and raised in Malaysia, draws her inspiration for her work through her non-specific geographical upbringing. Currently based in KL, Nadirah received her bachelor of Fine Arts from the fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Apart from her film directing, Nadirah is an internationally published photographer with a portfolio that includes Bloomberg, The New York Times Magazine, NYLON, VICE, Dazed and Confused and Vogue Italia.

Nadirah together with Junad, co-founded Layar Lucida, a women-led creative studio based in KL, Malaysia.
