Naga DDB Tribal’s ‘She Speaks Power’ launches first Power Mixer featuring female founders

Naga DDB Tribal Malaysia stages the second event under their newly launched female-only networking platform – She Speaks Power: The initiative was originally set up to empower women from different backgrounds and industries to connect, network and leverage on the power of mentorship.

The mixer was positioned like a speed dating session for female mentors and aspiring entrepreneurs, pairing women from various startup industries such as social, health & wellness, e-commerce, and others to connect and learn from each other.

Among the list of mentors included Jesrina Arshad and Stephanie Looi of Purely B, entrepreneur Rozie Mastor, Audra Pakalnyte of FavePay Later, Puteri Nor Ariane Yasmin of Green Ribbon Group, Min Chia of The Other School, Anna Kim Bo Kyung of Carsome, Angel Low of The Hive Southeast Asia, and Julie Ng of Vase.ai.

“Joining the event reminded me of my journey when I started Vase.ai. I was very happy to be able to participate and give back to the community as many entrepreneurs did before I did the same for me when I started,” said Julie Ng, founder of Vase.ai, an AI-powered consumer research platform.

The session also drew up-and-coming female entrepreneurs who were eager for insights from the panel of mentors. Najwa Arifin of Kalmhs Clothing, travelled from Melaka to Bangsar to attend the two-hour event as she felt that it was important for her to grasp knowledge first-hand from people who have built successful endeavours from the ground up.

Arifin said: “The 2-hour journey is worth it given that I gained great insights from the mentors. They were very helpful in analyzing and pitching ideas on what I could do more to grow my brand. It’s just amazing how everyone who participated was very helpful towards each other.”

“At Naga DDB Tribal, not only do we champion diversity and inclusivity, we also believe in the power of mentorship and personal growth. She Speaks Power will continue to hold more power mixers every quarter with the next initiative set for early 2023 and we hope that this will give our talents and whose who attend our sessions a broader view on what success looks like to inspire them further,” says Farrah Harith McPherson, Chief Growth Officer.
