DITO and TBWA\SMP create music video putting the spotlight on emerging PH talent
TBWA\SMP has released this new music video featuring up-and-coming artists from the Philippines’ three major regions – Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao – for Gáling DITO. The music video is an impressive visual showcase of what it’s like to pursue your passion.
The campaign is both inspiring and wonderful to watch, which is perhaps one of the reasons why within 48 hours of launch, it’s already reached more than 6 million views on YouTube. A major player in the telco industry, DITO, wishes to use this campaign to underscore its commitment in helping Filipinos pursue their passion—by providing them easier access to fast and stable connection to the rest of the world.
The campaign line “Gáling DITO” literally means “it comes from here.” The word galing can also mean talent or skill. This word play intends to bring a sense of pride to Filipinos by saying that these talents all come from the Philippines.
The new Gáling DITO music video was launched during National Arts Month. It is headlined by PPop group, Alamat, whose members proudly hail from various parts of the Philippines, and are well-versed with local dialects.
Other artists featured in the video include:
• Grace Palicas, a tribal tattoo artist from Kalinga in Cordillera Provinc
• Nhoda Muñoz, a miniature artist based in Pampanga
• Cid Cempron, considered to be one of the most skillful local blacksmiths. He’s from Bohol
• Joneil Severino, a leaf artist from Samar Island
• Nurainie Ampatuan, one of the most prolific young designers to come from Sultan Kudarat
• Bea Vega, an emerging authority in the surfing scene and a videographer from Siargao
• Chef Don Baldosano, a purveyor local flavors. He comes from Capiz
• KooKoo Ramos, celebrated graffiti artist from Pasig
• Sandino Martin, a mixed media artist and actor who’s originally from Bicol
• Natividad Acosta, one of the few remaining traditional textile artists from Kalinga
• Arthur Osin, a champion of non-binary fashion and model from Butuan
• Marvin Dalisay, a smoke artist form IloIlo
• Jeth Torres, a visual storyteller from Cavite
• Anne Charlaine Santos, a paradancer from Quezon City in Metro Manila
• Rhon Palmera, a SEA games silver medalist and sungka player from Caloocan City
• Gee Maitem, one of Davao’s most famous free divers
• Pyro the Fire Empress, easily the most iconic fire dancer in the country, from Antipolo City
• Herminio Tan, a sculptor who also hails from Antipolo City

Evelyn Jimenez, Chief Commercial Officer of DITO Telecommunity, said: “DITO Telecommunity goes beyond just being a typical telco that provides connectivity products and services; our company also proudly embodies a commitment to nation-building. By fostering a platform that shines a spotlight on Filipino talent and excellence, along with celebrating our rich cultural diversity, DITO positions itself as not just a telco, but a catalyst for societal enrichment and unity.”
This is the second campaign of the same nature launched by DITO. In 2022, the first Gáling DITO campaign made waves not just in the country, but also abroad.
