New Creators’ Showcase returns to Cannes: Saatchi & Saatchi opens global entries for 34th edition ~ deadline Friday May 17

Entries for the 2024 iteration of Saatchi & Saatchi’s legendary New Creators’ Showcase are now open. Deadline for entries set to close on Friday, May 17.

Offering emerging motion creators anywhere in the world the opportunity to have their work broadcast on a global stage at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the 2024 showcase will continue Saatchi & Saatchi’s long-standing commitment to platforming, championing and hiring emerging talent.

Beyond dedicating its platform at Cannes to introducing up-and-coming creators to the biggest names in the creative industries, Saatchi’s New Creators’ Showcase offers direct funding and employment to emerging talent.

First, through its existing partnership with Channel 4 in the UK, one of this year’s creators will have a short film commissioned, funded and screened through Random Acts.

Additionally, 2024 will also see Saatchi & Saatchi reaffirm its commitment to ensure that all of the shortlisted creators have the opportunity to collaborate with the agency and its partners, announced last year with the support of clients including John Lewis, Waitrose, EE and British Heart Foundation. The creators will have access to dedicated support from the Saatchi production department as part of this process.

10 emerging creators were featured in the 2023 showcase, and have since gone on to work on commercial Saatchi & Saatchi projects across the globe for brands such as Nivea and Deutsche Telekom. One of the 2023 cohort is also in production on a short film in partnership with Saatchi & Saatchi and Channel 4, which is set to air on Random Acts later in the year.

This year’s shortlist will be selected by curators Franki Goodwin, chief creative officer, Saatchi & Saatchi London; Jess Ringshall, chief production officer, Saatchi & Saatchi London; and Kate Stanners, chairwoman and global chief creative officer, Saatchi & Saatchi.

Says Goodwin: “The New Creators’ Showcase is such an important moment in the year for us, and we’re excited to lose ourselves in the incredible work submitted this year. Since the 2023 showcase, we’ve been working more closely than ever with the incredible talent we spotlight, ensuring that we do more than just showcase them… we actually work with them. Jess, Kate and I are so proud to have created multiple opportunities across the network, proving that creative careers are viable and sustainable whatever your background.”

The 2024 New Creators’ Showcase is accepting entries from today, and is open to all forms of motion creators, accepting all film formats, experiences and styles. To be eligible to feature in the showcase, candidates must not have made work commercially (paid for by a brand) in the format they are submitting in before June 2022. Entries should be emailed to ncs@saatchi.co.uk, with full entry requirements available in the below Notes to Editors.
