Confidence in Motion: Axe Malaysia and Fishermen Integrated launch new spot with Aiman Aliff
Axe Malaysia has partnered with Fishermen Integrated and Directors Think Tank’s Aiman Aliff for a fun, cheeky new spot. Featuring actor Mierul Aiman and rapper MK (K-Clique), the full-length film shows how Axe captures more than just women’s attention.
Director Aliff took a script already brimming with attitude and amplified it through bold visuals and confident performances that embody the self-assurance Axe is known to inspire. Given the space to be playful and daring, he fully embraced the opportunity.
“What excited me most was the tone of the film and getting to work with new people. It was my first time working with MK-Clique and Mierul Aiman, who each brought different energy to the set and to the film itself,” said Aliff.
Aiman added: “When asked if he got to try anything new for this film, Aliff highlights the freedom given to play with dynamic shot designs of camera movement, angles and visual effects. “We wanted the visuals to feel active and confident, yet still fun. It wasn’t about being flashy, but just letting the camera and effects bring out the energy and playfulness of the film.”
Balancing style and humour was Aliff’s challenge, but he made sure the film was cohesive from beginning to end. He ensured the humour was intentional, and the style consistent so that all that took place felt like it belonged in the same world.
“At Fishermen, branded entertainment has always been the focus of our content and we are fortunate to work with Aiman to bring this piece of vision to life. What makes it even better is when our clients are game for it as well. Win-Win-Win,” said Andrew Tan, Executive Creative Director and Co-Founder of Fishermen Integrated.
