FRND launches Independence Day campaign celebrating India’s many voices
A country with over 19,500 mother tongues or dialects, feelings transcend every spoken word. For every Indian, there is a language that carries the warmth of home, the comfort of belonging, and the freedom to be completely oneself. This Independence Day, FRND, India’s first avatar-based audio social discovery platform has launched ‘Dil Se Bol’, a campaign that celebrates India’s linguistic diversity.
Rooted in the spirit of India’s 80th Independence Day theme, ‘Honouring Freedom, Inspiring the Future’, the campaign celebrates the freedom to speak authentically, embrace one’s linguistic identity, and express oneself without any inhibitions.
At the heart of the campaign is a brand film that brings together voices from across India, each expressing a common hesitation many people experience in everyday realities: the fear of being judged for how they speak. As the narrative unfolds across multiple Indian languages, the film explores universal emotions such as missing home, seeking comfort, wanting to feel understood and finding the confidence to be oneself. The film culminates in a powerful message, “Different Voices. Same Emotions. One India.”
While social media has expanded opportunities for connection, many users continue to gravitate towards spaces where they can communicate in their preferred language. That feels most natural to them and builds connections without the fear of judgement.
Through ‘Dil Se Bol’, FRND seeks to spotlight the importance of creating environments where every person can communicate comfortably, naturally, and without judgement. Whether it is speaking to someone with the same mother tongue, reconnecting with one’s roots, sharing everyday experiences or simply expressing thoughts in a familiar language, the campaign celebrates how language can make everyday conversations feel more personal, honest and meaningful.
Bhanu Pratap Singh Tanwar, CEO & Co-founder, Interact Group (FRND), said: “India’s diversity has always been one of its greatest strengths. Yet, beyond our different languages and backgrounds, there are emotions and experiences that connect us all. With the ‘Dil Se Bol’ campaign, we wanted to celebrate that shared Indianess while reminding people that authentic expression begins when we feel comfortable being ourselves. This Independence Day, we are celebrating not just the freedom to speak, but the freedom to speak from the heart.”
The film showcases a range of everyday moments across various Indic languages reflecting India’s cultural richness and demonstrating how human connection often transcends linguistic boundaries. To mark the occasion, FRND will host special singing and poetry rooms on its Radio feature centred around patriotism on 15th August, inviting users to celebrate Independence Day through music and verse.
FRND currently has over 3 million monthly active users across India and operates in ten Indic languages – Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Odia, Marathi, Punjabi, Gujarati and Bengali. On average, users spend more than 30 minutes daily on the platform, driving close to 1.3 million conversations every day.
