BLKJ Havas and Grab 5-Star Eats turn Singapore’s toughest food critics into keyboard warriors
To find the best food on the app, GrabFood launched 5-Star Eats, a badge awarded to select restaurants that consistently deliver exceptional quality. To earn the recognition, the criteria is relatively simple: thousands of exceptional reviews from real people.
And when it comes to food, Singaporeans don’t hold back. They can be ridiculously picky. From the crispiness of a chicken wing to the amount of chilli in a dish, no detail is too small to escape scrutiny. And behind a keyboard, that honesty can become even more fearless. The result? Reviews that are detailed, demanding and often unintentionally hilarious.
So, to promote Grab 5-Star Eats, BLKJ Havas and Grab decided to bring these tough reviews to life and reveal the keyboard warriors behind them.
The films are based on three real reviews from Singaporean diners. One reviewer gave an otherwise satisfying dish four stars because its crispiness was inconsistent. Another took a star off an exceptional dish simply because it needed more chilli. And one refused to give a perfect score because they had to peel a single prawn.
