Moonfolks strengthens Indonesian leadership adding Puja Komariah as General Manager
Following its expansion into regional markets including Brunei and Vietnam, Moonfolks is strengthening its leadership team at its Jakarta head office. Effective from 31st August, Puja Komariah has joined Moonfolks Indonesia as General Manager.
Komariah (pictured left) joins from Dwi Sapta, a Dentsu company, where she had worked since 2013, most recently as Client Partner Director. She brings extensive local industry experience, having worked across consumer goods, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, banking, telecom and logistics. Brands she has worked with include Enesis Group (Kispray, Soffell, Adem Sari, Vegeta, Amunizer, Antis and Force Magic), Ultrajaya, Bank Mandiri, Mandiri Manajemen Investasi, Combiphar (Insto and OBH Combi), Kalbe and Djarum Corporate, among others.
This marks Moonfolks’ second senior management hire in Jakarta, following the appointment of Mahendro ‘Endo’ Sasonko as General Manager of Moonfolks Shopex, the agency’s shopper marketing and brand experience specialist division.
Anish Daryani (pictured right), Founder, Group CEO and President Director, Moonfolks, said: “As part of our growth strategy across the region, it is important we keep up the high octane momentum in Jakarta. We wanted to bring in someone with strong leadership abilities, deeply entrenched local market relationships and someone who can help further influence the strong culture of Moonfolks. We found all of that, and more, in Puja.
“There’s a lot that our young team in Jakarta can learn from her deep rooted experience. Her expertise across creative and media will also further strengthen our integration between Moonfolks and Havas Moonfolks (the agency’s strategic alliance with Havas Media Network). We want to play a more active role in the local industry bodies for which Puja is the perfect fit.”
Komariah will be based in the agency headquarters in Jakarta, and will spearhead the agency’s creative and digital operations, along with direct oversight of the agencies integrated specialisms that include Moonfolks Echo (PR & Influencer Marketing) and Moonfolks Shopex (Brand Experience & Shopper Marketing).
Komariah said: “At this stage of my career, I’m looking for room to grow again, both professionally and personally. Twenty years in established structures gave me depth, but it also settled into a rhythm I’ve outgrown. Moonfolks, finding its own voice as an independent agency, is exactly the kind of environment where I believe I can keep learning rather than simply applying what I know already.
“I want to bring my client servicing and campaign strategy experience into an independent environment, where decisions move faster and ideas have room to be genuinely out of this world and “make audacious possible” for our brands. Moonfolks is a place where twenty years of experience can be put toward building something new, and where I can grow alongside it, rather than just maintaining what already exists.”
