Campaign Brief Asia Creative Rankings 2023: Ogilvy goes five in a row as Thailand’s #1 ranked agency with Leo Burnett narrowly edging out Wunderman Thompson for #2

Ogilvy has gone five in a row as Thailand’s Creative Agency of the Year following the release of the Campaign Brief Asia 2023 Creative Rankings. Over the past decade Ogilvy has dominated the Creative Rankings and this year was no exception with their award winning performances over the past 18 months earning them a massive 3,665 creative ranking points. They sit a remarkable 2,770 points in front of the #2 ranked Thai agency Leo Burnett Group Thailand, who edged out #3 ranked Wunderman Thompson Bangkok.

 

Ogilvy accumulated points evenly over both 2023 and 2022 (1880 + 1785). Their biggest award winning contributor was the highly successful Voiz campaign “The Innocent Eyes”. Other award winning work included Dutchie Yogurt’s “Love Your Gut” and Tourism Authority of Thailand’s “Amazing Thailand. Culture to Commerce”.

Their top performing award shows included LIA 22, where they won Best of Show, 5 Gold, 7 Silver, 3 Bronze and 1 Finalist. At One Show 23 they also dominated – winning a Grand Prix and 6 Gold and AdFest 23 the agency won 2 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze.

At #2 is Leo Burnett Group Thailand who shot up the rankings table from their 2021 position of #9. With 895 points Leo Burnett is just ahead of Wunderman Thompson Bangkok at #3 with 810 points.

Leo Burnett has good performances at AdFest 23 + 22, Campaign Brief’s THE WORK 23 + 22, Clio 23 and Cannes 22.

Wunderman Thompson had strong performances at AdFest 23 + 22 and Campaign Brief’s THE WORK 22 and they also won at Spikes Asia 23 + 22 and D&AD 22.

SOUR Bangkok are another big improver in Campaign Brief Asia’s Creative Ranking 2023, rising up from #8 and #10 in the previous two rankings to #4 this year with 770 points. SOUR picked up points from AdFest 23 + 22, LIA 22, Spikes Asia 22, Campaign Brief’s THE WORK 23 + 22 and at MAD STARS 22.

Wolf BKK ranks at #5 in Thailand with 705 points. Their best creative performance was at the recent New York Festivals 23, winning a Best of Show and Grand Prix, along with 2 Golds for their “The Air Drummer” campaign for Robinsons Department Store. They were also good performers in Campaign Brief’s THE WORK 23 + 22 and won awards in 2022 at LIA, AdFest and Clio.

Not far behind in #6 ranking position is BBDO Bangkok with 630 points. Most of BBDO’s points (505) have come in 2023 from AdFest, Campaign Brief’s THE WORK and Cannes Lions.

GREYnJ United Bangkok is ranked #7 this year with 390 points. GreynJ have dropped down a few spots since previously ranking #3 and #2 in the past two Creative Rankings.

Trailing only 15 points behind GREYnJ United is the #8 ranked VMLY&R Bangkok.

CJ Worx with 315 points ranks at #9.

Rounding out the top #10 is Dentsu Creative Thailand with 290 points.
