Ogilvy named 2020 Singapore Creative Agency of the Year following the release of Campaign Brief Asia’s Creative Rankings: Sa’ad Hussein + Eugene Cheong lead Singapore’s Hottest Creatives ranking
Over the next 10 days Campaign Brief Asia will be releasing country by country results of the 2020 Creative Rankings. At the end, the complete tables and full Campaign Brief Asia Creative Rankings will be available as a 80 page magazine downloadable pdf. The Campaign Brief Asia Creative Rankings were introduced in 1995 to tabulate Asia’s most creative agencies and individual creatives, based on award winning performances over a two year period at the top global and regional award shows.
Ogilvy Singapore has consolidated their position as the most awarded creative agency in the Singapore market with 1020 creative ranking points in Campaign Brief Asia’s 2020 Creative Rankings.
It is the second time in a row that Ogilvy has been named Campaign Brief Asia’s Singapore Agency of the Year after moving up from #2 position, behind BBH Singapore, in 2017.
This year’s big improver in the Singapore market over the past 2 years is Publicis who have risen from #13 position in 2018 to #2 this year. Strong performances at Cannes Lions, the London International Awards, Spikes Asia and AdFest in 2019 saw Publicis actually outperform Ogilvy over the past 16 months and certainly sets up the agency to possibly challenge Ogilvy for the Agency of the Year title next year.
BBH Singapore, who ranked #1 in Singapore in 2017, comes in at #3 this year with MullenLowe, Dentsu and Toaster Singapore in a close race for the next three positions.
As you would expect, Ogilvy Singapore and Publicis Singapore creatives fill most of the top positions in the ranking of individual creatives in Singapore.
There is however, a surprise at #1 this year with former TBWA Singapore’s Sa’ad Hussein taking top spot. Hussein’s high ranking, up from #34, is due to him being part of the creative team on two award winning campaigns created by TBWA Thailand.
At #2 is former Ogilvy Asia chief creative officer Eugene Cheong. He is followed by two former Ogilvy Singapore creatives – David Stevanov (moved to the USA) and Kevin Wijaya (now at Leo Burnett Singapore).
At #5 is Ogilvy Singapore’s Aritra Dutta. Three Publicis Singapore creatives are ranked at equal #6 – Eugene Pua, Jocelyn Chabanis and Mihir Dhairyawan.
NB: The results of the 2020 Campaign Brief Asia Creative Rankings are tabulated from creative award wins at the 11 award shows included over a rolling two year and a half year period starting from AdFest 2018 (March 2018) through to Campaign Brief’s The Work 2020 (June 2020). The shows that are included in these calculations are: Ad Stars, Spikes Asia, AWARD Awards, AdFest, Campaign Brief’s THE WORK, Clio Awards, London International Awards, New York Festivals, One Show, D&AD and Cannes Lions.

The list I’d be more interested in is ‘Creatives still in the job they were at in 2018/19’.
Who’s hot? Who’s not? Who’s still employed?
