Campaign Brief Asia’s 2020 Malaysia Creative Rankings sees Grey Group awarded Creative Agency of the Year: Vince Lee, Elissa Azizi + Nicholas Kosasih head ranking of top creatives
In the 2018 Campaign Brief Asia Creative Rankings GREY Group Malaysia scored only 15 points. In this year’s Creative Rankings the agency jumps up to #1 position and the Malaysian Creative Agency of the Year title with 350 points.
It’s the first time GREY has topped the Campaign Brief Asia Malaysian Creative Rankings and great recognition for ECD Graham Drew (pictured above).
The agency’s award-winning ‘Your Plastic Diet’ campaign for WWF played a key role in their recent awards success. GREY’s awards came at Cannes Lions, One Show, Campaign Brief’s THE WORK and AdFest.
2018’s most awarded Malaysian agency, Leo Burnett, scored 305 Creative Ranking points to rank at #2. Leo Burnett were #1 in Malaysia over the past two Campaign Brief Asia Creative Rankings – 2018 and 2017.
Retaining #3 ranking in Malaysia with 240 points is Hakuhodo.
Ensemble Worldwide picked up 180 Creative Ranking points to finish in #4 spot. In 2018 Ensemble Worldwide ranked #2.
At #5 and #6 respectively in the Malaysia Creative Rankings are newcomers Bonsey Jaden and Fisherman Integrated.
M&C Saatchi and the now closed BBDO Proximity both returned to the Creative Rankings in #7 & #8 positions while Naga DDB Tribal moved from #4 in 2018 to share equal #9 with Reprise.
#11 is Ogilvy Malaysia – the only other Malaysian agency to pick up points in the 2020 Creative Rankings.

The Campaign Brief Asia Creative Rankings were introduced 25 years ago (1995) to tabulate Asia’s most creative agencies and individual creatives, based on award winning performances over a two year period at the top global and regional award shows.

Hakuhodo’s Malaysia Vince Lee again takes out top spot for the second time in a row in the Campaign Brief Asia Malaysian Creative Rankings. Lee has a total of 925 points scored through creating work for Hakuhodo Malaysia and their sister agency in Indonesia.
At #2 is TBWA Malaysia’s Elissa Azizi with 735 points. Azizi recently returned to Malaysia after a successful few years working in China on award-winning campaigns for Amber China and W Shanghai.
Hakuhodo ECD Nicholas Kosasih moves down one spot this year to #3 position with 510 Creative Ranking points. Kosasih also worked on campaigns for Hakuhodo’s Indonesian agency.
GREY Group’s Ralve Khor’s is ranked #4 – scoring 220 Creative Ranking points.
Loo Kok Seng and fellow Hakuhodo creative Ray Goh are ranked #5 and #6.
Former Leo Burnett creative Jaz Lee has improved his 2018 ranking by 14 positions to come in at #7 this year.
On 160 points and in equal #8 position is Grey Group’s Brendan Low and Kevin Wong. Hang Thang Wei rounds out the Top 10 after improving from #33 in 2018.
